Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 2026-07-29 · Last updated: 2026-11-06
This Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of, and should be read with, the Cognity Terms of Service (Section 13). Paid plans paid for in Korean won in the Republic of Korea are sold and billed by us directly, and their payments and refunds are processed through Toss Payments. All other paid plans are sold and billed through Paddle as our Merchant of Record; their refunds are handled through Paddle in accordance with Paddle's buyer terms.
1. Subscriptions and automatic renewal
Paid plans are subscriptions. Unless stated otherwise, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period for a further period of the same length, at the then-current price, and you authorize the corresponding recurring charge until you cancel. Where required by law, we will remind you before a renewal.
2. Free trial (14 days)
We offer a 14-day free trial of the paid subscription. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the 14th day, your payment method is charged the applicable fee, and the subscription then renews automatically. You may cancel at any time during the trial through your account settings to avoid being charged.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel a subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting cognity@ctcorp.ai. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then, and future renewals stop.
4. Refunds
We offer a full refund within 14 days of a payment where the Service has not been used since that payment — that is, where there is no usage or account activity attributable to the purchase. Refunds are processed through Toss Payments for payments made in Korean won, and through Paddle (our Merchant of Record) for all other payments. Apart from this, and except where required by law or expressly stated, fees are non-refundable and are not prorated for partial periods. This does not affect any statutory consumer refund or withdrawal rights described in Section 5.
5. Consumer withdrawal / cooling-off
If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within a set period (for example, 14 days in the EEA/UK, and applicable periods in Korea, Japan, and other jurisdictions). Where you ask us to begin providing the Service during that period, you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal may be lost or reduced once performance has begun, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights.
6. Taxes
For payments made in Korean won, we collect and remit Korean VAT, and it is included in the price shown at checkout. For all other payments, as Merchant of Record, Paddle assesses, collects, and remits applicable sales tax, VAT, and GST on your purchase where required, and prices at checkout reflect such taxes where applicable.
